Position: Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager will work in close connection with the business and provide strategic leadership to the department. This position will support the strategic responsibilities related to Human Resources, including employee relations, payroll, performance management, talent acquisition, workforce planning, leaves of absence, compensation, training, and employee engagement. This position will have one direct report that will support the activities and objectives of safety established by the Human Resources Manager.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the General Manager and Co-Owners to develop departmental goals, objectives, and strategies, that align to Frantz’s overall strategy.
• Drive annual performance appraisals program, including training managers on goal setting for employees, delivering feedback, and having crucial conversations with employees.
• Manage and resolve workplace investigations and other employee relations issues in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.
• Must ensure departmental activities are following all state and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO and FLSA).
• Act as a liaison between management and legal counsel to mitigate legal liabilities.
• Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale increase engagement and retention of talent, to support a high performance and dynamic culture.
• Ability to understand the business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspective.
• Drive employee engagement and communication, which may include action plans and engagement activities.
• Provides company policy guidance and interpretation.
• Plan and oversee employee benefit programs.
• Responsible for recruitment, interview, selection, and hiring process.
• Handle staffing issues, such as mediating disputes and directing disciplinary procedures.
• Implement company culture, values, and policies.
• Serve as a consultant with managers/supervisors advising them on human resources issues, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and training.
• Responsible for Frantz Safety Program.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Previous HR Management experience, Bachelor’s Degree, or a min of 5 years of experience.
• Bilingual Spanish required.
• Fundamental knowledge of labor and employment laws.
• Experience leading and managing payroll and recruiting functions.
• Strong leadership qualities.
• Ability to build rapport with all employees.
• Ability to understand the business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspective.
• Ability to effectively manage, delegate and prioritize multiple projects with overlapping tasks.
• Ability to coach, counsel, and influences employees at all levels.
• Experience in Agricultural environments preferred.

• Bilingual Spanish required.
